Softball Recap: Benton's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Two

Benton barely beat North Andrew the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Benton's pitcher stepped up to hand North Andrew a 7-0 shutout on Thursday. With that win, Benton brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

North Andrew's batters probably weren't too happy with Shania Noland, who pitched a no hitter and racked up nine Ks (she gave up a single walk). With that strong performance, Noland is now averaging an impressive 6 strikeouts per game.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Sladyr Duncan, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Landyn Gabler, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

The victory made it two in a row for Benton and bumps their season record up to 3-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for North Andrew, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.
