Volleyball Recap: Bunker Comes Up Short

Bunker was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Eminence Redwings. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Redwings apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Bunker was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-14, 25-13.

Kara Barton paced Bunker's offense, picking up ten kills. Barton got some help from Loren Ritter and her 19 assists. Finally, Barton was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high four blocks.

Bunker's loss dropped their record down to 3-9-1. As for Eminence, with the win, they broke their three-match losing streak and moved their record to 8-6.

Bunker didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Cabool on the 20th. As for Eminence, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Willow Springs on the 22nd.
