Softball Recap: Boardman Starts Season with Win at Home

Boardman gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Saturday. They came out on top against the Lakeview Bulldogs by a score of 8-5.

Tori Strines made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. Strines was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Addie Rudge was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double. Laci Jurus was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3.

Boardman wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 4-3 defeat against Hoover on the 24th. As for Lakeview, they will head out on the road to take on Struthers at 5:00 p.m. on the 31st.
