Soccer Game Preview: Central Academy vs. West Stanly

The Central Academy Cougars will venture away from home to take on the West Stanly Colts at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Tuesday, Central Academy didn't have quite enough to beat Parkwood and fell 2-1. Central Academy have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between West Stanly and Piedmont, and Piedmont kept the tradition alive. The Colts lost 8-2 to the Panthers on Tuesday.

Raygan Gainey and Kennedy Foxx scored both of West Stanly's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 23 goals.

Central Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for West Stanly, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 7-5.

Central Academy came up short against West Stanly when the teams last played back in April of 2024, falling 5-3. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
