Basketball Recap: Pleasant Valley Comes Up Short

After a string of three wins, Pleasant Valley's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They were dealt an 83-48 defeat at the hands of the Inderkum Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 511th, while the Tigers are ranked 14th).

Several Vikings players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Keith Thompson, who posted 11 points and six boards. Brody Moore was another key player, putting up six points.

Pleasant Valley's loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-8. As for Inderkum, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pleasant Valley will host Enterprise at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Enterprise is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.6 points per game this season. As for Inderkum, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bella Vista at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Inderkum's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six games.
