Minarets is 0-7 against Chowchilla since April of 2023 but things could change on Friday. The Mustangs are taking a road trip to challenge the Tribe at 4:00 p.m. Minarets is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.
Minarets took a 20-run loss the last time they faced off against Mariposa County, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Mustangs sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 win over the Grizzlies on Wednesday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Mustangs as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Addison Lafferty spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on five hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Nadia Faysal, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.
Meanwhile, while Chowchilla put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Minarets. The Tribe put the hurt on the Mustangs with a sharp 14-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Tribe, who have now won 13 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Heaven Moore made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Moore was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI.
In other batting news, Chowchilla got a massive performance out of Rylee Vlot, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple was Vlot's first of the season. Kasey Vlot was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.
Chowchilla hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least three batters in 12 consecutive games.
Minarets' record is now 12-8. As for Chowchilla, their record now sits at 14-6-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Minarets has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Chowchilla struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.5 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Minarets might still be hurting after the 14-0 defeat they got from Chowchilla in their previous matchup on Tuesday. Can the Mustangs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
