Football Recap: Franklin Pierce Falls Short of Tumwater in the Playoffs + How To Watch

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Franklin Pierce can now relate to. They came up short against the Tumwater Thunderbirds on Saturday, falling 27-6. The Cardinals were red-hot offensively heading into the game (they scored no less than 31 points in the nine matchups prior), but the Thunderbirds' defense proved too tough.

Bryson Allen and Adam Cook certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Allen rushed for 116 yards, while Cook picked up 44 receiving yards and one TD. Allen's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 116 rushing yards.

With the loss, Franklin Pierce broke their seven-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-3. As for Tumwater, they pushed their record up to 10-1 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home.

Franklin Pierce does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Tumwater, they will square off against East Valley at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Thunderbirds 13.7, the Red Devils 7.6) so any points scored will be well earned.
