Baseball Recap: Capitan Comes Up Short

Capitan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 13-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lovington Wildcats.

Korey Jones was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Kyland Perry was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Capitan's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Lovington, they moved to 8-8 with that win, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Capitan will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Magdalena at 3:00 p.m. on April 7. As for Lovington, they will take on Roswell at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
