Football Recap: Pickens Skates Past Johnson with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pickens). They claimed a resounding 49-3 victory over the Johnson Knights. The Dragons haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Pickens' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ike Wyngaard led the charge by rushing for 78 yards and one TD on only eight carries. Cal Morrison was in the mix as well, providing the Dragons with two scores.

Pickens' victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Johnson, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pickens will welcome Greater Atlanta Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Johnson, they will be playing at home against North Hall at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Knights will need to watch out since the Trojans have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
