After both having extra time off, the Osceola Kowboys and the Durant Cougars will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Osceola's defense has only allowed 14.8 points per game this season, so Durant's offense will have their work cut out for them.
Last Friday, Osceola came up short against Lakewood and fell 28-18. The Kowboys have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Osceola got top-tier performance from Jeffrey Sinophat, who rushed for 100 yards and a pair of scores. Sinophat's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 100 rushing yards.
Even if they lost, Osceola's defense still kept up the pressure with four sacks. Leading the way was Amier Clarke with two. Nathaniel Barnett was another major factor on D, making nine total tackles (4.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Durant ultimately got the result they hoped for back in October. They snuck past Bartow with a 46-40 win.
Durant's win came from a few key players Osceola will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Ryan Porter, who picked up 124 receiving yards and two TDs. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Another back making a difference was Maurice Kenne, who rushed for 104 yards and one touchdown on only eight carries.
Durant didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of King Rivera and Remus Randall. Randall also made seven total tackles, which is notable because Durant is 2-1 when he posts at least four total tackles, but 3-4 otherwise. Another thorn in Bartow's side was Jeremiah Stanley, who picked up two sacks, made nine total tackles (2.5 for loss), and defended one pass.
Durant has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-5 record this season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to yards per carry: they averaged an imposing 5.24 yards per carry in those games compared to only 2.96 in the others. As for Osceola, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4.
Everything came up roses for Osceola against Durant when the teams last played back in November of 2024, as the team secured a 35-6 victory. In that contest, the Kowboys amassed a halftime lead of 35-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
