Preview: Tupper Lake Lumberjacks vs. Saranac Spartans
The Tupper Lake Lumberjacks will head out on the road to challenge the Saranac Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Tupper Lake put the finishing touches on their ninth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat St. Regis Falls 86-51 on the road. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 51-17.
It was another big night for Thomas Peterson, who scored 24 points along with seven assists and five rebounds. Michael Corneau was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Meanwhile, Saranac had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They managed a 62-56 victory over Saranac Lake on Thursday.
The win was the fourth in a row for Tupper Lake, bringing their record for this year to 10-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 80.3 points per game. As for Saranac, their victory bumped their record up to 4-6.
Tupper Lake was taken down by Saranac 74-44 in their previous matchup back in December of 2016. Can Tupper Lake avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
