Basketball Recap: Emmanuel Christian Falls to Governor's School for Science & Math in First Game of Season

Emmanuel Christian had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They came up short against the Governor's School for Science & Math Eagles on Tuesday, falling 35-13. The Crusaders were down 27-6 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

When it comes to explaining why Emmanuel Christian lost, don't look at Ciara Dibble. Despite the final result, she posted five points and five steals. Dibble is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last five games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Aubrey Hoffman, who earned five points.

Jasmine Reyes had an outrageously good game for Governor's School for Science & Math as she put up 15 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Elon Mack, who had four points in addition to 13 boards and four steals.

Coming up, Emmanuel Christian will challenge Florence Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Governor's School for Science & Math, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Lewisville at 6:00 p.m. on December 2.
