Baseball Recap: East Mountain Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

East Mountain had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Santa Fe Indian Braves with a sharp 12-4 win. With that victory, the Timberwolves brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.

Aidan Madrid was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Those zero hits allowed gave him a new career-low. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, East Mountain let Dalton Springall and Charles Birdwell run wild. Springall scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Birdwell scored three runs while going 3-for-4. Those three runs gave Springall a new career-high. Rylen Radosevich was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.

East Mountain kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

East Mountain now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Santa Fe Indian, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Mountain will face off against St. Michael's at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Santa Fe Indian, they will take on Pecos at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Pecos has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.5 runs per game on average), something Santa Fe Indian will no doubt try to take advantage of.
