Basketball Recap: Reedy Comes Up Short

Reedy lost against Walnut Grove on December 6th and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Reedy Lions lost 82-60 to the Walnut Grove Wildcats. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 671st, while the Wildcats are ranked 60th).

Reedy dropped their record down to 6-16 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points per game. As for Walnut Grove, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Reedy will head out to challenge Newman Smith at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Reedy is facing Newman Smith at the right time seeing as Newman Smith is stuck on an 11-game losing streak. As for Walnut Grove, they are taking a road trip to face off against McKinney North at 2:15 p.m. on Friday.
