Softball Game Preview: Boston English Eagles vs. Brooke Senators

The Boston English Eagles will take on the Brooke Senators at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Boston English knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Brooke likes a good challenge.

On Thursday, Boston English made easy work of New Mission and carried off a 22-5 win. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Titans recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Jayana Williams looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Alba Rodriguez, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with eight stolen bases, four runs, and three RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024. Amirah Gholizadeh was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with five stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Boston English always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .694. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Meanwhile, Brooke came up short against Neighborhood House Charter back in April, falling 22-14. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game back in April (ten), the Senators still had to take the loss.

This is the second loss in a row for Brooke and nudges their season record down to 0-2. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 12.0 runs this season. As for Boston English, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Everything went Boston English's way against Brooke in their previous meeting back in April, as Boston English made off with a 23-10 win. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Senators have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
