Basketball Recap: Madison County's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak on the Road

It was a good run, but Madison County unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Monday. They took a 59-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Brooks County Trojans. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cowboys this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 46-41 last Saturday.

Madison County's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jahlaya Wilson, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 15 rebounds. Wilson is crushing it when it comes to boards: she's pulled down at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Ralsharee Robinson, who posted 15 points and five steals.

Imani Hall was her usual excellent self, going 9 for 14 on her way to 29 points along with five rebounds and four steals for Brooks County. Hall is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Trinity Vinson, who put up eight points in addition to five boards and three steals.

Madison County's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-7. As for Brooks County, their win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-2.

Madison County has already played their next contest (against Hamilton County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Brooks County has also has no score uploaded for their next game, this one against Charlton County.
