Preview: Willow Spring Storm vs. Corinth Holders Pirates

The Willow Spring Storm will head out on the road to challenge the Corinth Holders Pirates at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Willow Spring focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Tuesday.

Willow Spring scored the most points they've had all season to find success. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Cleveland 82-51 on the road. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Willow Spring as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Willow Spring's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Xavion Terrell, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Terrell hasn't dropped below 16 points for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Grant Overman, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.

Meanwhile, Corinth Holders' recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their 11th straight loss. They were beaten by South Garner 78-35. While losing is never fun, Corinth Holders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 566th, while South Garner is ranked 104th).

Willow Spring's win bumped their record up to 7-15. As for Corinth Holders, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-20.

Willow Spring was able to grind out a solid victory over Corinth Holders in their previous meeting back in January, winning 68-57. The rematch might be a little tougher for Willow Spring since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
