Lindale had to skate by with only a one-goal margin when they last took the pitch, which might have inspired the seven-goal drubbing they dealt Cumberland Academy on Friday. The Lindale Eagles' defense stepped up to hand the Cumberland Academy Knights a 7-0 shutout. Considering the Eagles have won seven matches by more than five goals this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Lindale has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 36 goals over those seven contests. Cumberland Academy's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-12.

Coming up, Lindale will welcome Sulphur Springs at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Cumberland Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against Chapel Hill at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Cumberland Academy has given up an average of 6.5 goals per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week.
