Basketball Recap: Floresville Comes Up Short

Floresville suffered their biggest defeat since November 16, 2024 on Friday. They were outmatched by the Somerset Bulldogs and fell 62-31. The Tigers/Jaguars haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Despite the loss, Floresville still got an impressive performance from Jacob Silva, who posted seven points. Those seven points gave Silva a new career-high.

Somerset got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Evan Hernandez out in front who had ten points. Hernandez is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last eight games he's played. Another player making a difference was Ignacio Jimenez, who scored 12 points.

Floresville's loss dropped their record down to 14-17. As for Somerset, the win was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 22-11.

Floresville has already played their next match, a 58-54 victory against Pearsall on the 11th. As for Somerset, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, an 89-25 win against Uvalde on the 11th.
