Basketball Recap: Rosehill Christian Falls to St. Pius X in First Game of Season

Rosehill Christian unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They were outmatched by the St. Pius X Panthers and fell 64-35. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 57-42 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jensen Mireles, who posted 14 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Johnson, who had nine points and four steals.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead St. Pius X to victory, but perhaps none more so than Carson Teeter, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and ten boards. Those ten rebounds gave Teeter a new career-high. Kellen Biley was another key player, shooting 80% from the field en route to 14 points and eight boards.

Rosehill Christian has already played their next contest, a 62-56 victory against Brazos Christian on the 7th. As for St. Pius X, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 56-48 win against Brentwood Christian on the 7th.
