Basketball Recap: Summit's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Summit hadn't done well against Mountain View recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Summit Storm came out on top against the Mountain View Cougars by a score of 53-44. Given the Storm's advantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 34th, while the Cougars are ranked 114th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The win was the third in a row for Summit, bringing their record for this year to 14-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.3 points over those games. As for Mountain View, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Summit will square off against Ridgeview at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mountain View, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Cougars challenge the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Redmond will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something Mountain View surely won't give up without a fight.
