Basketball Recap: Christyana Jacobs' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Terrell over Midlothian Heritage

Terrell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 41-34 to the Midlothian Heritage Jaguars. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 677th, while the Jaguars are ranked 149th).

Terrell's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Christyana Jacobs, who posted two points. The team also got some help courtesy of Danielle Jones, who put up 11 points.

Among those leading the charge was Ava Batty, who had 15 points. Brianna Finch was another key player, putting up ten points.

Terrell's loss dropped their record down to 11-14. As for Midlothian Heritage, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Terrell Tigers face off against the Kaufman Lions at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Kaufman will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Terrell surely won't give up without a fight. As for Midlothian Heritage, they will square off against Ennis at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Midlothian Heritage is facing Ennis at the right time seeing as Ennis is stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
