Basketball Recap: Kayleigh Cooper Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Palm Bay

Altamonte Christian was handed a heart-breaking two-point loss in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Palm Bay on Thursday. The Eagles blew past the Pirates 62-40.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Altamonte Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kayleigh Cooper, who went 7-for-11 on her way to 15 points in addition to five rebounds and three blocks. The contest was Cooper's fourth in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Arianna Ritz, who shot 56% from the field en route to 12 points and seven boards.

The win got Altamonte Christian back to even at 1-1. As for Palm Bay, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Altamonte Christian and Foundation Academy will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest, having both just played. As for Palm Bay, they are taking a road trip to challenge Seminole at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
