Basketball Recap: Burns Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Shaw Martin and Mason Medley

Burns was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 25th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 64-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tongue River Eagles. If the Broncs were looking for revenge after losing 51-28 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Despite the loss, Burns had strong showings from Mason Medley, who went 6 of 14 en route to 12 points and eight steals, and Shaw Martin, who went 7 of 14 on his way to 19 points. Those eight steals gave Medley a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Hansen, who posted four points and four steals.

Burns' defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Burns wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 68-39 victory against Moorcroft on the 13th. As for Tongue River, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 43-34 loss against Southeast on the 13th.
