Basketball Game Preview: Woodlawn-B.R. Panthers vs. Archbishop Rummel Raiders

The Woodlawn-B.R. Panthers are taking a road trip to square off against the Archbishop Rummel Raiders at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Tuesday, Woodlawn-B.R. was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 64-58 to Brother Martin. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Thursday (57), the Panthers still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, Archbishop Rummel strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 71-35 victory over Independence. The Raiders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 22 points or more this season.

Archbishop Rummel found their leader in sophomore Felton Chest, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and ten rebounds. Those 16 points set a new season-high mark for Chest. Joe Morgan was another key player, going 6-for-11 to rack up 12 points and six steals.

Archbishop Rummel smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds every time they've taken the court this season.

Archbishop Rummel's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Woodlawn-B.R., their loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-1.
