Basketball Recap: Harvest Community Takes a Loss

On Tuesday, the Harvest Community Warriors ended up a good deal behind the Atlantic Coast Stingrays and lost 65-48. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Harvest Community still got an impressive performance from Adam Lawson, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 14 boards. The game was Lawson's third in a row with at least ten points. Justin Parsons was another key player, putting up nine points.

Even though they lost, Harvest Community smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive boards in six consecutive contests.

Leading Atlantic Coast to victory were Da'Juan Thompson and Ben Ward. Thompson went 8 of 12 on his way to 20 points along with six boards and four steals, while Ward went 6 of 11 from beyond the arc on his way to 19 points. Thompson is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Amari Fields, who posted 11 points and four steals.

Harvest Community now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Atlantic Coast, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

Harvest Community will be playing in front of their home fans against Parsons Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Atlantic Coast, they will venture away from home to face off against Mandarin at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Atlantic Coast is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.9 points per game this season.
