Ocean Lakes is 8-2 against Bayside since May of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 4:00 p.m. Ocean Lakes is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.
Ocean Lakes took a loss when they played away from home last Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed last Thursday. They put the hurt on Landstown with a sharp 6-0 victory. The Dolphins haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Sam Patterson made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over six innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one home run. She also put up a run, which was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Lu Cirillo was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That stolen base was her first of the season.
Ocean Lakes hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least three batters in five consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Bayside was not able to break out of their rough patch last Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against Kellam, falling 8-1.
Paityn Robinson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run.
Ocean Lakes' victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Bayside, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.
Bayside's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Ocean Lakes has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.6 hits per game. It's a different story for Bayside, though, as they've been averaging 9.6 hits. Given Ocean Lakes' sizable advantage in that area, the Marlins will need to find a way to close that gap.
Ocean Lakes took their victory against Bayside when the teams last played back in March by a conclusive 15-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Dolphins since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
