Baseball Recap: Troy's Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Troy proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by 23) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Kendrick Tigers 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Trojans have posted against the Tigers since April 12, 2022.

Dominic Holden spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up 15 Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Makhi Durrett, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was Payton Christensen, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

The win (which was Troy's fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.8 runs over those games. As for Kendrick, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 9-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Troy will host Potlatch at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Loggers will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Trojans surely won't give up without a fight. As for Kendrick, they will challenge Genesee at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 8.3 runs per game this season.
