Baseball Recap: Coronado Comes Up Short

Coronado was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Pinon Eagles, falling 15-7. That's two games in a row now that the Dons have lost by exactly eight runs.

Alexander Bustamante made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February of 2024.

Coronado's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Pinon, they pushed their record up to 1-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Coronado will be taking part in a tournament against ALA - Anthem South at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Pinon, they will take on Coolidge in a tournament on Saturday.
