Softball Recap: Nowata Comes Up Short

Nowata extended their losing streak to 12 on Friday, dropping them down to 2-18. They lost 9-0 to the Kellyville Ponies. If the Ironmen were looking for revenge after losing 17-3 to the Ponies when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Kellyville, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-9. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by seven runs or more this season.

For Kellyville's part, Kallie Martin was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Those two RBI gave Martin a new career-high. Bretlynn Hanson also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen bases of the season.

Looking ahead, Nowata will face off against Ketchum at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Kellyville, they will take on Caney Valley at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
