Basketball Recap: Owen Warhorses vs. Tuscola Mountaineers
Owen was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Tuscola Mountaineers, falling 68-42. One positive for the Warhorses, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Despite the loss, Owen saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Mia Roland dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 boards. That's the most points Roland has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Elly Wright, who posted ten points and seven rebounds.
Tuscola was led to victory by Julia Wells and Nora Jenkins. Wells went 7 of 16 on her way to 16 points along with five boards and three steals, while Jenkins put up 17 points and five steals. Anna Kate Sutton was another key player, putting up ten points and three steals.
Owen's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Tuscola, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-5.
Owen will take on Mountain Heritage at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Mountain Heritage is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.8 points per game this season. As for Tuscola, they will challenge North Henderson at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
