Baseball Recap: Redondo Union Takes a Loss

After flying high against Lawndale last Tuesday, Redondo Union came back down to earth. The Redondo Union Sea Hawks fell just short of the Torrance Tartars by a score of 3-2 on Friday. The Sea Hawks were not able to make up for their defeat to the Tartars from their previous meeting back in April of 2022.

Redondo Union got a good showing from Robby Zimmerman, who didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. Zimmerman has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, KG Hattori was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 4-for-4. Taehan Kim was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one double.

Redondo Union now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Torrance, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Looking ahead, Redondo Union will square off against Palos Verdes at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Torrance, they are taking a road trip to challenge Canyon at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Canyon will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Torrance surely won't give up without a fight.
