Volleyball Recap: St. Joseph Academy Takes a Loss

St. Joseph Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 3-1 to Calvin Christian. St. Joseph Academy was not able to repeat the success they had when they faced Calvin Christian earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

St. Joseph Academy started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 19-25, 25-22, 25-23, 25-12.

Brewster Gale paced St. Joseph Academy's offense, picking up 18 kills. Gale got some help from Dominic Gale and his 17 assists. Finally, Dominic was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high 12 blocks.

St. Joseph Academy's loss dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Calvin Christian, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-14.

Coming up, St. Joseph Academy will take on Tri-City Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something the Crusaders surely won't give up without a fight. As for Calvin Christian, they will welcome Del Lago Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
