Pioneer is 8-0-1 against Willow Glen since December of 2014 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Pioneer Mustangs will look to defend their home pitch against the Willow Glen Rams at 7:00 p.m. Pioneer is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 7.1 goals per game this season.

Willow Glen better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if last week is any indication, that's when Pioneer really get things going. Pioneer never let Lincoln onto the board and left with a 3-0 win on Tuesday. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by three goals or more this season.

They hit Lincoln with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Rylee Ronchetti, Ella Overhulse, and Patricia Acoba.

Meanwhile, Willow Glen has been on a difficult stretch since their win on December 7. Neither they nor Ann Sobrato could gain the upper hand on Tuesday so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw.

The victory (which was Pioneer's third in a row) raised their record to 7-1. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three contests. Willow Glen's draw gives them a new season record of 1-4-3.

Pioneer skirted past Willow Glen 1-0 in their previous matchup back in February of 2022. Will Pioneer repeat their success, or does Willow Glen have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
