Fleming Island is a perfect 5-0 against Ponte Vedra since February of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Fleming Island Golden Eagles will venture away from home to face off against the Ponte Vedra Sharks at 6:30 p.m. Fleming Island is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Fleming Island's offense. They fell 5-0 to St. Augustine on Tuesday.

Fleming Island got a good showing from Ocean Bland, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits.

At the plate, Caden Swartz made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases.

Meanwhile, Ponte Vedra gave up the first runs on Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. They had just enough and edged out Fletcher 4-3.

Ben Williams looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Dylan McAdoo was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Ashtan Augusta was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

The win got Ponte Vedra back to even at 2-2. As for Fleming Island, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

Fleming Island came out on top in a nail-biter against Ponte Vedra when the teams last played back in March of 2024, sneaking past 4-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for Fleming Island since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
