Football Recap: Collinsville Takes a Loss

Collinsville and Colbert County squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Collinsville had to settle for second. They took a blow against the Indians, falling 64-19. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Indians apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2019.

Mason McAteer threw for 219 yards and two TDs. Sylas Adams was his top target, picking up 110 receiving yards. On the ground, Travis Ledford rushed for 42 yards.

Collinsville moved to 8-3 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak. As for Colbert County, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-3.

Collinsville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Colbert County, they will square off against Gordo at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Indians will need to watch out since the Green Wave have now posted at least 31 points in their last three matchups.
