Football Recap: Hackley Falls Short of Rye Country Day in the Playoffs

Hackley and Rye Country Day squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Hackley had to settle for second. They took a 13-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Rye Country Day's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Charlie Pearle led the charge by rushing for 74 yards on only nine carries, while also picking up 46 receiving yards. Alex Vlasto helped out on the ground, rushing for 81 yards and a rushing touchdown.

Hackley's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Rye Country Day, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-1.

As of now, neither Hackley nor the Wildcats have any future games scheduled.
