Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sequoyah). They really took it to the Pope Greyhounds for the full four quarters, racking up a 70-13 victory. Given the Chiefs' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 27th, while the Greyhounds are ranked 322nd) , the win on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Sequoyah's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kolby Martin led the charge by throwing for 169 yards and five touchdowns while completing 87.5% of his passes, and also punching in one TD on the ground. That's the most passing touchdowns Martin has posted since back in November of 2024. Brooks Darling also helped out with an impressive 126 receiving yards.

Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 16 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Jedadieah Marshall, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

Sequoyah's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. Pope's QB won't forget Hayden Poole anytime soon given he sacked him twice. Poole has been hot, having also posted seven or more total tackles the last seven times he's played.
