Volleyball Recap: Haverhill Takes a Loss

Haverhill was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Central Catholic Raiders. While the Hillies didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Raiders 25-17 in the first set.

Haverhill started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 17-25, 25-9, 25-14, 25-11.

Despite the loss, Haverhill still got an impressive performance from Marianna Robinson, who had nine digs and one assist.

Haverhill's loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Central Catholic, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-2 record this season.

Haverhill didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Boston Latin on the 9th. As for Central Catholic, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Peabody Veterans Memorial on the 10th.
