Basketball Recap: Drew Comes Up Short

Drew was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 46-41 heartbreaker at the hands of the California School for the Deaf Eagles. The Dragons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2021.

When it comes to explaining why Drew lost, don't look at Miya Nunez. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double with 16 points and 12 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Marybelle Lobo, who posted eight points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Drew's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for California School for the Deaf, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Drew didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 39-26 defeat against Convent of the Sacred Heart on the 5th. As for California School for the Deaf, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 44-35 loss against Pacific Collegiate on the 4th.
