Football Recap: Patrick Henry Academy Takes a Loss

Patrick Henry Academy extended their losing streak to six on Friday, dropping them down to 1-7. They took a blow against the Calhoun Academy Cavaliers, falling 42-14. The Patriots were down 42-7 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Although Patrick Henry Academy took the loss, they still got scores from Mac Gohagan and Luke Sobey.

As for Calhoun Academy, their win was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-1. The result was nothing new for the Cavaliers, who have now won six games by 21 points or more so far this season.

Colt Layton was his usual excellent self, rushing for 99 yards and two scores. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last three times he's played.

Looking ahead, Patrick Henry Academy will welcome Orangeburg Prep at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Calhoun Academy, they will head out to take on Spartanburg Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
