Soccer Game Preview: Lincoln High vs. Norfolk

Lincoln High is 2-7 against Norfolk since April of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Links are taking a road trip to face off against the Panthers at 7:00 p.m.

While the 0-0 score might suggest a draw, it was Pius X who was credited with the win on Wednesday. The Thunderbolts got it done in the shootout by posting five goals to Lincoln High's four. Both teams had to tread carefully at times as the refs weren't afraid to hand out yellow cards: Lae Htoo was handed one for Lincoln High, while Pius X got theirs courtesy of Zac Tuttle.

Lincoln High better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if Norfolk's game on Tuesday is any indication, that's when Norfolk really gets things going. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 4-1 margin over Fremont. The victory continues a trend for Norfolk in their matchups with Fremont: they've now won eight in a row.

Norfolk hit Fremont with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Isidro Rosas (2), Vidal Aguirre, and Sebastian Lugo.

Lincoln High's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Norfolk, the win got them back to even at 5-5.
