Austin has gone 9-1 against James Clemens recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Black Bears will look to defend their home field against the Jets at 4:30 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
James Clemens will square off against a team with plenty of momentum: Austin extended their winning streak to five on Saturday. The Black Bears came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 9-8 W against Brewer. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Black Bears have posted since April 5th.

Khalilah Mason was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while going 4-for-4. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Arden Breedlove, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Austin was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in four consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask James Clemens). They had just enough and edged out Columbia 17-16. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Jets considering their one-run performance the game before.
The team relied heavily on Addison Crenshaw, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5. Bella Wall was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-5.
Austin's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 29-12-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for James Clemens, their win bumped their record up to 13-20-2.
James Clemens' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Austin hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .315. It's a different story for James Clemens, though, as they've only averaged .239. Will they be able to contain Austin's hitters?
Austin took their victory against James Clemens when the teams last played back in March by a conclusive 10-0 score. Will the Black Bears repeat their success, or do the Jets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
