Friday, 7 p.m. Eastern time

Why it's big: It's one of two Class 6A semi-state games being played Friday night to determine which teams will play for the state crown at Lucas Oil Stadium on Thanksgiving weekend.

State No. 1 Center Grove (12-0) aims for its first trip to the finals since 2008, the year the Trojans won their only state title. It's the first time Avon (10-2) has made the semifinals since 2005, and the Orioles have never been crowned state champion.

Names to watch: The most touted player in this game — and the entire state of Indiana — is Avon senior quarterback Brandon Peters. The Michigan commit ranks as the seventh-best pro-style passer in the nation, according to 247Sports. The 6-foot-5, 205-pounder has 2,803 passing yards with 35 touchdowns and only five interceptions this season.

Speedy junior running back Titus McCoy matched a season high with three touchdowns in Center Grove's 24-13 win over Warren Central last week. McCoy has 1,537 rushing yards and 24 total touchdowns for the season.
Center Grove will play Avon with a state championship berth on the line.
