Volleyball Recap: Slinger Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Slinger can now relate to. They fell just short of the Menomonee Falls Phoenix by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Owls haven't had much luck with the Phoenix recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Miley Quade paced Slinger's offense, picking up 19 kills. Quade got some help from Ella Kohnen and her 38 assists.

Menomonee Falls can attribute much of their success to Addie Bruns, who had 11 digs and three aces. That's the most digs Bruns has posted since October 7th.

Slinger's defeat dropped their record down to 22-14. As for Menomonee Falls, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 33-9 record this season.

Slinger does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Menomonee Falls, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-1 loss against Hamilton on the 1st.
