Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Samantha Kinning and Mattilyn Trimble Lead Pender to Victory

Pender won the last time they faced Wakefield, and Kaylee Schroeder did her part to make sure it happened again. The Pendragons were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Trojans on Thursday thanks in part to Schroeder, who had 13 kills and four aces. She is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had seven or more in each of the last four games she's played.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-11, 25-17.

Leading Pender to victory were Mattilyn Trimble and Samantha Kinning. Trimble had six digs and three aces, while Kinning had three digs and two aces. That's the most aces Trimble has posted since back in October of 2024.

They weren't the only good server: Pender was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 12 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wakefield only served two aces.

Pender moved to 5-6 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Wakefield, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.

Looking ahead, Pender will head out on the road to square off against Stanton on Tuesday. As for Wakefield, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Clarkson/Leigh at 5:30 p.m.
