Softball Recap: Williston Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Williston, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They came out on top against the Chiefland Indians by a score of 3-0 on Thursday. The Red Devils have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Indians, too.

Luna Asencion made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only a hit while striking out 15 over seven innings pitched. Asencion was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-3.

Asencion wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kaelyn Williams, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

The victory got Williston back to even at 1-1. As for Chiefland, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-3.

Williston wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, an 11-4 win against Gainesville on the 21st. As for Chiefland, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 9-3 loss against Suwannee on the 21st.
