The South River Rams will venture away from home to square off against the J.P. Stevens Hawks at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. South River is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.1 runs per game this season.

South River took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. Everything went their way against Piscataway Vo-Tech as they made off with a 19-1 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Rams considering their two-run performance the matchup before.

Noah Borero spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Jimmy Sanchez was a standout: he got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Julien Borusovic, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.

South River always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .632. The last time their OBP was this high was back in May of 2024.

Meanwhile, J.P. Stevens was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They fell 6-3 to North Plainfield.

J.P. Stevens' loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for South River, their win bumped their record up to 6-2.

Everything went South River's way against J.P. Stevens when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as South River made off with a 10-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
