Volleyball Recap: Cuyama Valley Comes Up Short

After flying high against Maricopa last Thursday, Cuyama Valley came back down to earth. The Bears lost 3-0 to the Valley Christian Academy Lions on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-12, 25-14.

Cuyama Valley has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season. As for Valley Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5-1 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Cuyama Valley is set to take on their familiar foe Coastal Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Valley Christian Academy will square off against rival Shandon at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
