Softball Recap: St. Bernard's Takes a Loss

St. Bernard was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat. They took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hoopa Valley Warriors. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, with their most recent loss being a 16-15 defeat back in April.

Aryanna Osborne spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and four unearned) runs on three hits.

On the hitting side, Macy Wantt made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. Brittyn Ikeya was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

St. Bernard's loss dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Hoopa Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Hoopa Valley beat St. Bernard's by a score of 7-3 later that day.
